The felix-1655-web-2 patch contains an enhancement to the web console to
support this functionality as well as unit tests for pretty much all of the
code that I changed in relation to this bug.
One slightly funny thing I encountered during the creation of the unit tests
was that a call to:
new org.apache.felix.karaf.webconsole.admin.AdminPlugin();
pulls in a transitive class dependency on an apache commons fileinstall
exception. So I've added this dependency to the test scope of that module.
