Okay I found a workaround / solution to it.
In the etc/config.properties you can comment out the following
# OSGi Execution Environment
###org.osgi.framework.executionenvironment=J2SE-1.5
This is the only change I have done. I have kept to use felix as osgi framework.
And then camel-cxf can be installed
