Hi,

as we are seeing with the current vote for the event admin, using our
latest parent pom comes with two changes for the released artifacts:

a) The packaged project is now called "source-release" instead of project
b) This package comes only as a zip

I didn't realize these differences until Richard mentioned them in the
vote thread. Both are consequences of using the latest Apache parent pom.

The question is now, are we fine with these changes or should we switch
back to the old behaviour?

I think for a) it's fine to use the new extension as this brings us in
line with other projects using the Apache parent pom. And people are
usually downloading this through our website, so they use a link and
don't type in the whole address by hand.

b) shouldn't pose a problem either - except if we need to bundle
scripts. However there is currently a bug filed for that as well
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MPOM-10. So this will eventually
be fixed soon.

WDYT?

Regards
Carsten
