What about all the whiteboards; and CDI (akin to DS)?
So health checks are following the whiteboard pattern (same as it was in Sling), the HC executor takes any registered HealthCheck services into account. Dependency injection with DS is naturally supported with @Reference. Any other technique to register OSGi services (iPojo or even manually via a bundle activator) will just work due to the whiteboard pattern with OSGi services.
How are their status' handled here and how would it affect your suggested breakdown?
So the HCs as such are good as they are. The options given are really different options on how to move forward with the modules systemready and rootcause.
