To reproduce:
# Have a POM with the plugin (e.g.
[https://bitbucket.org/asomov/snakeyaml-engine/src], disable Sonatype plugin
for testing)
# Have a repository that requires upload authentication
# Configure repo credentials in ~/.m2/settings.xml
# Attempt to deploy using alternative repository:
{{mvn deploy -DskipTests=true
-DaltDeploymentRepository=repo.id::default::[https://repo.url|https://repo.url/]}}
The upload process does not attempt authentication in this case.
