URL: https://github.com/apache/felix-dev/pull/588

   Part of [FELIX-6870](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FELIX-6870).

   ## What

The modules whose tests run on a *released* framework pin it as a
`felix.framework.version` property, documented as "pinned to the latest release
so the module still builds on its own". CI overrides that property with the
framework built from this repository, so CI always tests current code.

The latest release is now 8.0.0 (JDK 25 support release), so the defaults
were stale. A standalone build such as `mvn verify` in `http/jetty12` still
tested against 7.0.5, which is exactly the situation FELIX-6869 was about.

   | module | default | |
   |---|---|---|
   | `configadmin`, `http/itest`, `http/jetty`, `http/jetty12` | 7.0.5 | →
8.0.0 |
   | `scr` | 7.0.1 | → 8.0.0 |
   | `gogo/itest-shell`, `gogo/itest-jline` | 6.0.1 | → 8.0.0 |

Two comments in `http/jetty` and `http/jetty12` are updated as well. They
named 7.0.5 as the latest release and gave
`-Dfelix.framework.version=7.1.0-SNAPSHOT` as the example override, a version
that no longer exists; it is now `8.0.1-SNAPSHOT`.

   ## Not changed

Modules that FELIX-6870 did not cover keep their pins: `eventadmin`,
`healthcheck`, `rootcause`, `systemready` and the example hosts. Moving the
example hosts would raise their runtime baseline from Java 8 to 11, which
deserves its own decision.

   ## What CI does and does not tell you

CI **overrides** this property, so a green run here does not exercise the
new defaults. They are exercised only by building each module without the
override.

Standalone check, in a Linux clone with an empty local Maven repository so
that framework 8.0.0 must come from Central, and without
`-Dfelix.framework.version`:

   | module | result |
   |---|---|
   | `configadmin` | passed, 74 integration tests; only framework `8.0.0` was
downloaded |
   | `scr` | in progress |
   | `gogo` (reactor, both itest modules) | pending |
   | `http` (reactor, including `itest`) | pending |

I will update this table as the remaining groups finish.
