Mexina, Sorry this isn't more clear on a release notes page or release announcement - we'll make sure that's more evident but to work it out from the release numbering, remember that Mifos is always built on top of the latest stable release of Apache Fineract.
The Mifos Release numbering follows Year.Month format so 16.12 was released in December 2016.
