Hi Fineracters! Recently we had a request from one of our clients to implement on Fineract a treasury management module.
The main objective of this module is to allow the institution to track all the liquidity excess investments. Usually, when a financial institution has some excess of liquidity they invest in different tools, ranging from: - Capital market investments (fixed term deposit on a commercial bank) - Fixed income investments (bonds) - Treasury bill investments (treasury letters) - Real estate investments All of these tools have slightly different requirements, all of them involves a face value deposit, an interest rate and a maturity date that needs to be tracked. Some of them have pre-cancelation fees or other types of fees. Also, all these investments will impact on the accounting system and on the general ledger in different forms, that also needs to be tracked.
