Interesting direction for potential future users of the community. Even if the issue tracker doesn't reflect this, a decent number of discussions with prospective users led to this requirement.
A lot of inexpensive (subjective) ERPs have weak designs of this module implemented. By "weak", I mean things like bloated design, bugs that are hard to isolate and gaps between paper tiger and real tiger (only claims of abstraction into configurable settings and modules). It will be good for this module to find a built-for-purpose home rather than a general purpose home even if that general purpose home is more popular in general. Not to discourage anyone working on this but B2C rather than B2B use cases find enough consensus or contributions to motivate people to put in the non-trivial effort to pull in something non-trivial like this.
