Hello Elroy, Welcome to the community! It's great that you're willing and ready to start contributing upstream and have experience extending your internal version. The README is fairly comprehensive in terms of coding standards and the process for submitting pull requests ( https://github.com/apache/fineract?tab=readme-ov-file#pull-requests)
Did you browse the issue tracker to see if there are any issues you'd like to pick up or perhaps you would like to contribute back some of the bug fixes you've already made if those aren't yet fixed in upstream. There are a number of efforts related to refactoring and addressing technical debit which is also a good starting point for newer community members.
