Hi Devs - I'd like to post this to provide transparency as a decision.
Previously the Fineract project was running a VM on ASF infra at demo.fineract.apache.org This is not running properly. It has NOT been running for some time. The DNS points to it, but there is no working instance. I question whether it is useful and would propose now that we let go of this instance. We can request one in the future - and as ASF are moving to a new VM version, the current thing cannot be maintained anyway beyond the next few months. Previously, the demo instance also included the Mifos Front end UI. See other discussion of this on the listserv. Also as this deployment suggests a way to deploy that is not how we would advise in our security documentation, it seems like a poor "demo" example. HOWEVER, we could and should provide more communication about what our software does, including videos, better high level documentation, but having a "demo server" that is always up seems outside of our current priority list.
