Hi everyone,

My name is Raghav, and I'm a student developer from India. I mostly work
with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases, and I'm
interested in contributing to Apache Fineract and the broader Mifos
ecosystem, with a long-term goal of applying for GSoC.

So far, I have:
- Gone through the New Contributor Getting Started Guide and basic
documentation
- Subscribed to this dev mailing list
- Started exploring the Fineract repository and its build/setup instructions

I have previously worked on backend-heavy projects like:
- A smart parcel tracking system backend
- A fitness tracking backend using Java, JPA, and Supabase
- RAG-based AI chatbot systems

Over the next few days, I plan to:
- Complete a full local build of Fineract
- Study the architecture and core modules (clients, loans, accounting)
- Start with beginner-friendly issues (documentation, small bugs, tests,
etc.)

I’d really appreciate any guidance on:
- Good first issues or parts of the codebase suitable for a new Java
contributor
- Recommended modules for understanding the system better
- Any architectural or design documentation that is especially important
for newcomers

Looking forward to learning from you and contributing to Fineract.

Best regards,
Raghav
