Hi all,

PR #6546 <https://github.com/apache/fineract/pull/6546> (FINERACT-1322
<https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FINERACT-1322>) adds a *semi-monthly*
repayment frequency: loans repaid twice a month on two configured days
(e.g. 1st & 15th, 15th & last day, 10th & 28th).

It is implemented as a new value in the shared *PeriodFrequencyType* enum (
*SEMI_MONTHLY*(6), appended after INVALID so persisted values are
unchanged). During review, It was asked whether a loan-only value in a core
enum is acceptable. It is excluded from integerValues() and needs no-op
case branches in a few savings/shares switches.

The alternative is a loan-specific frequency type. That would change the
persisted type of the repayment frequency across the loan product, loan
account, API and schedule calculators, which is a much larger change.

*Proposal:* keep *SEMI_MONTHLY* in *PeriodFrequencyType*, fenced off from
savings, shares, interest rate charts and re-aging as the PR does today,
and consider a loan-specific frequency type as a separate refactor if the
community prefers it.

Any objections or preferences?

Thanks,
Alberto
