Hello Apache Fineract folks!

Finally made it to the mailing list! 😄

I’m Vipul, a third-year Computer Science student from India. I’ve recently
started exploring Apache Fineract, and I’m excited to get involved with the
community.

I mostly work with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Spring Security,
PostgreSQL, JPA/Hibernate and Docker. I’ve built a few backend and
full-stack projects, but working with a large production-grade codebase
like Fineract is a new experience for me.

I’ve been reading the CONTRIBUTING guide, and the Cucumber E2E testing
setup caught my attention.

I’d particularly like to understand how the feature files and step
definitions work, how test data initialization happens, and how new test
scenarios are added.

A few things I’d love to learn from the community:

   - Are there any current issues related to Cucumber E2E tests or test
coverage that would be suitable for a new contributor?
   - Are there any particular backend modules or testing areas I should
   explore first?
   - What’s currently happening in the project, and where could someone new
   genuinely help?

I’m still finding my way around the codebase, so I’ll probably have plenty
to learn (and a few things to debug along the way 😅).

Looking forward to learning from you all and hopefully contributing my
first fix soon!

Thanks,
Vipul
