Joshua Poore commented on FLAGON-438:
-------------------------------------

Hi [~muditkaushik] --

Thanks for the ticket. A few things to note: TAP, and Distill need refactoring
and are being replanned right now. The current pipeline includes UserALE.js and
our dockerized elastic build. Check out documentation here, in our
incubator-flagon/docker dir:
[https://github.com/apache/incubator-flagon/tree/master/docker]. Its very
streamlined, doesn't take you through TAP and Distill, and has been tested very
recently. Please comment here if you have issues with these instructions, we
can walk you through setup.

You are right that it can be confusing for how to get to the right
documentation, and I see that the sister documentation to the readme above on
the website is out-of-synch, referencing SensSoft containers (our old project
name). That's an oversight/typo.

I can work on cleaning this up this weekend. I will comment and add subtasks as
I go. Thanks!

> Documentation is still not very helpful and docker files are outdated

> Trying to deploy the whole pipeline from UseAle(Web Extension) to
> ElasticSearch to Distill to TAP . But even after following the step by step
> instructions  given in the documentation it was all futile .
> Only the NEON (which shows data through *.js file) example which comes by
> default is running , but when trying to up the "webserver" part in the TAP ,
> it's not working .
> The DockerFiles of multiple components are outdated and pointing to old
> versions leading to lot of errors while building the docker-compose .
> Can you please clean it up and make it usable ?
