Great question! Yes, but obviously absolutely no-where near as much I would
have liked by now. Here’s the rundown:
- Mentors gave me a lot of confidence in graduating some time ago, and we
re-initiated a VOTE on the incubator thread
- Minor issues were raised. We address 99% of them that we actual blockers,
VOTE stalled nonetheless
- Long latency comms and rl dropped re-engagement

Path Forward:
- Did get word from mentors recently on new course of action for addressing the
last issue (unsubscribed committers), will act on it this weekend
- will try and address other issue (non-blocking) with INFRA (retiring
deprecated projects: user-ale (v1), STOUT, TAP) asap
- also getting through IP clearance an legal on refactored Distill project
(cross fingers for this month)
- would include a bevy of new committers (I think 5) though CCLA (reading up on
proc for bringing them in)
- that would be a great time to reinitiate the VOTE (+major contribution,
+community growth)—VOTEs can stall, but we can pick it back up from where we
left off.

If you want to poke around Distill (python module for processing UserALE logs),
our MVP is under test. Forked branch is here:

Haven’t been as active on the Apache side lately, but have been working the
project on the other side…

More on that soon—have to read up on the processes Apache side for accepting
gifts and CCLAs into the project.
