I'll answer for Alex while he's travelingÅ 

Basically, FlexJS is a new framework for MXML/ActionScript so it can be
compiled into SWFs and JavaScript. Alex is creating a new framework of
classes and UI components that are very lightweight and work well in
either platform.

The project is in its infancy and I'm helping Alex write new components.
When Alex has time I'm sure he'll fill this in with more details, but you
