That would be for the 'apache' organization.  We need to create a new org
called "apacheflex".  GitHub (AFAIK) does not support sub-organizations

Right.  The github urls repos are of this format:

https://github.com/<username>/<projectname>

or

https://github.com/<organizationname>/<projectname>


If this idea catches on and other Apache projects start doing this, will we

I wish we cold do this, but as I said it is not allowed.
