DataBindingTest is the one I use. I never did figure out how old my Closure tools are. And there is a chance I mucked with the Guava's on my system to "fix" this.
Did the compilation work before you started making changes? I think that's what I used to see. The problem would go away for a long time, then I would make some change and start getting it, then some other change would make it go away.
