For me, I only use the SDK on linux for CI builds. Usually on headless(No
UI) servers that don't run AIR anyways. With the current AIR installer,
it's not possible to install on headless linux computers.

The new method with ANT, does support headless installs. Users who do use a
graphical interface, can easily run the ANT scripts from their terminal. So
I think this is definitely an improvement, as it supports even more
instances.
