IMHO, inviting flex users to the dev list might not work, because of the highly 
technical discussions there.
Most people will get overwhelmed with the list traffic I think. 
An installer should just do what we expect: install the sdk, no?
The 'how to get involved' is easy to find on our site.

Also, too many people on the dev list might use it as a help line, which isn't 
its purpose.
Is there a possibility to have our own 'help' list or forum or is the adobe 
forum still the preferred place to be?
