I've been using the technology since release 2.0. And, I have the full time
job of releasing dozens of applications every year since, maintaining a user
base of 40,000+ users across the country.

One thing I want to be crystal clear about, is that the *DESIGN VIEW* needs
to be adopted in Apache Flex. This NONSENSE about *"programmers worth their
salt"* /(to which Nick I wonder if you're the guy going around forums
producing this propaganda...which seems oddly familiar)/ which is just
nonsense. First of all, I happen to KNOW as a concrete fact that I could put
GUI's faster then you using the design view. /(Even assuming you are worth
your salt.)/ And here is the kicker, they are going to look better too.

Also, when I'm working with all these customers, you know those silly people
paying me gobs of money to...you know...program in flex... really respect me
for producing a fast GUI mockup I can build as a result of the DESIGN VIEW
in FLEX 3~4. You know...when you have REAL WORK TO DO, PRODUCING
APPLICATIONS NO ONE HAS SEEN BEFORE.

Obviously, when working with labels and repeaters...design view doesn't work
that WELL. But I'll happily accept that sacrifice.

The design view is the reason I NEVER ADOPTED FLEX 4.6, 4.7 OR Apache Flex 4
pt. whatever it is now. This asset is /*mission critical*/. It might not be
a mission critical asset to you Nick, while you build your clunky flex apps,
but it is too me. And I swear...if need be I will tear apart all the flex
releases and rebuild one which has the DESIGN VIEW, and put that sh!t on
pirate bay.

People like you are swiftly destroying a great technology, with your
illusions of B.S. Still today, we have some form or another of HTML 5, and
it still...STILL HAS IMPLEMENTATION ISSUES across browsers. Flex COULD HAVE
RESOLVED THIS since it was a plugin, and was actually in the process of
doing that.

Adobe/Apache Flex tech is slowly being flushed down into the toilet because
some programmers helping build the framework didn't know what they were
doing... And I know ALLLLL about this...because the SDK install in 4.7 to
make flex instantly work in iOS was an TOTAL disaster. Did you guys bother
to TRY to load this? Did you see the instruction sheet(s)? What a hot mess,
and there were so many instruction variations.

And so you release this P.O.S. app (use your imagination) in iOS, and it
looks terrible...natively. And...another kicker folks, it's super clunky.
Delays in tap actions... and other operations/actions...I wonder why anyone
would seriously bother releasing a mobile app in adobe flex.

We need to get Apache Flex up to par. It's not going to be easy, but I think
in the end it's a good move considering Adobe was seriously fumbling the
ball towards the later releases.

WE NEED THAT DESIGN VIEW...DUDES & DUDETTES.

Troll you later,
C
