As always, please feel free to add additional updates and news to this thread! Flink Development =============== [sql] *Temporary tables* are always registered with the built-in catalog. If the built-in catalog is not the default catalog, access to temporary tables needs to be fully qualified, which breaks current functionality, e.g. in the SQL Client. Dawid and Bowen stumbled across this during release testing and are proposing three different solutions for the upcoming release and beyond [1] [python] The discussion on how to release (and if) to release the *Python Table API on PyPi *is converging to publish it under the name "apache-flink" and to include the binary Java/Scala release in the Python package for convenience. [2] [fault-tolerance] In the discussion thread about supporting *"at-most-once"* delivery Stephan proposed to work towards this feature outside of Flink core and to offer it to the community through the upcoming Flink ecosystem website. This seems to get a lot of agreement. [3] [table-api] Xuannan has started a discussion on *"FLIP-48: Pluggable Intermediate Result Storage"*. This will make the result cache for interactive programming (FLIP-36] pluggable. [4] [releases] Flink 1.9.0 release testing is still ongoing. There is no RC1 yet.
