Hi David,

Thanks for bringing this up. I personally don't think we should limit
ourselves when it comes to introducing long-overdue upgrades and cleaning
up outdated dependencies in 2.0. This is what Flink has been doing for a
very long time (20 minor releases), and if breaking changes need to be made
(which they do), now is the time. That's exactly why 1.20 is designated as
an LTS release - to give clients enough time to migrate.
