Hi, devs, This is the fifth meeting for Flink 2.1 release cycle. I'd like to share the information synced in the meeting.
- Feature Freeze It is worth noting that there are only 1 weeks left until the feature freeze time(June 21, 2025), and developers need to pay attention to the feature freeze time. - Features: So far we've had 17 FLIPs/features, and six FLIPs have been completed in 2.1. Regarding the remaining 11 FLIPs, 8 FLIPs are confirmed to be completed in 2.1, and the status of the other three is uncertain. Release-2.1 main story related features progress: 1. FLIP-525 AI Model: overall progress 80%, no risk to finish before feature freeze. 2. FLIP-521 Variant Type: confirmed with contributors that it will be completed before feature freeze, no risk. 3. FLIP-486 Delta Join: confirmed with contributors that it will be completed before feature freeze, no risk. - CI: So far, we have four unstable cases and one blocker issue, all of which have created jira issues： 1. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-37822: Fixed 2. http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-37842: It hasn't been reproduced recently, maybe it's a ci environment issue, close it first. 3. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-37899: Sergey fixed one round, but there is a new failed case, so need to keep fixing it 4. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-37701: Aleksandr is fixing 5. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-37703: We are locating the root cause by add more log 6. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-37892: Becket Qin didn't reproduce it locally and suspected a ci environment issue, so we continued to watch the cron build ci - Benchmark 1. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-37826: No progress - Sync meeting[3]: As feature freeze is approaching, release-sync is adjusted from two weeks to once a week, so the next meeting time is 06/18/2025, Please feel free to join us[2]!
