On behalf of the PMC, I’m pleased to announce that Hang Ruan has been elected as a new member of the Apache Flink Project Management Committee (PMC)! Hang has been a dedicated and impactful contributor to the Apache Flink community for many years. He has made substantial contributions across all key areas of the project: he authored 188 commits and reviewed 427 pull requests across core repositories—including Flink, Flink CDC, the Kafka connector, RabbitMQ connector, and numerous other connector projects; served as Release Manager for 7 releases, including two big version: Flink 2.2.0 and Flink CDC 3.3.0 (both delivered solo with high quality and on schedule); and participated in 25 release verification votes spanning Flink, Flink CDC, and more than 13 connector projects. Beyond code and releases, Hang has actively engaged with the community—contributing to 236 threads on the dev mailing list, responding to over 142 user questions on the user and user-zh mailing lists, and sharing deep technical insights through talks at Flink Forward Asia 2022 and 2024, as well as widely read articles on building reliable CDC pipelines, optimizing Kafka Connector performance, and exploring the internals of Flink 2.2.0. Hang’s consistent technical leadership, collaborative spirit, and commitment to the health and growth of the Flink ecosystem make him an excellent addition to the PMC.
Please join me in congratulating Hang on this well-deserved recognition! Best regards, Leonard(on behalf of the Apache Flink PMC)
