Hi everyone, I'm cancelling this RC. The source tarball contains ~30,000 macOS AppleDouble metadata files (files prefixed with "._") that were inadvertently included during packaging. These files cause the build to fail on Linux (e.g., protoc fails on "._simple_record.proto" with "Invalid control characters encountered in text").
I will create a new RC with the source tarball packaged on Linux.
