Hi all, While triaging the open issues in the "Connectors / Kafka" component I found 84 that only concern code removed from flink-connector-kafka: FlinkKafkaConsumer, FlinkKafkaProducer, KafkaShuffle, the 0.8 to 0.11 clients, the DataSet API, the old Table descriptors, and their tests. Every one was checked against main and v3.4: the reported class or test is gone (most in FLINK-36848, 2024-12-03), and none of the live lines can reproduce the report. Where KafkaSource or KafkaSink covers the same ask, the close comment names the feature; where an open ticket tracks the modern gap, it names that ticket.
The JIRA bot has deprioritised these (59 carry auto-deprioritized-major, 49 auto-deprioritized-minor) but never closes; the oldest has been untouched since April 2021. JSONKeyValueDeserializationSchema still ships and the report still reproduces, so it stays open as a real bug. Comment for optional bulk transition: *Closing as obsolete. This concerns the FlinkKafkaConsumer / FlinkKafkaProducer API or its tests, which were removed from flink-connector-kafka in 4.0 for Flink 2.0. The replacements are KafkaSource and KafkaSink.
