we are seeing an issue with Flume not working with any hadoop of version 2.1 or later. Is there any chance that Flume community will be having a release in the near feature that includs FLUME-2172? We are heading towards Bigtop 0.8.0 release - the first Apache Hadoop 2.3 based stack - and Flume's inability to work with protobuf 2.5 is a certain blocker for it.
