Fyi... My prior attempts at getting asynchbase working with hbase-98 did not
go well. Flume's async-hbase unit tests kept hanging. I had taken this up with
the asynchbase folks .. and wasnt able to get much help from them.

Hari .. seems like you are planning to take a stab at this and since i am not
going to be able to get to this anytime soon.. i shall un-assign myself from
this jira.
