Nicholas Wertzberger created FLUME-3181:
-------------------------------------------

             Summary: Make underflow timeout configurable
                 Key: FLUME-3181
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLUME-3181
             Project: Flume
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Sinks+Sources
            Reporter: Nicholas Wertzberger
            Priority: Minor

Not sure where to ask for this, I have a system where log load is not perfectly
balanced between the different flumes, most flumes will take quite a bit of
traffic, while one or two will get barely any (this is due to how apps discover
flume endpoints to write to). The busy flumes have no trouble keeping up, and
data is written in very quickly.

The low traffic flumes have messages that can be delayed for about a minute. I
would rather trigger frequent flushes of the channel at 5-second intervals if
the batch size has not yet been met.

I havent been able to find that configuration on any channels or sinks I am
using.

* Is this a feature?
* If not, can it be?
