Hello Apache Fluo users and developers,

The Apache Fluo project is now operating under new management. During
the April 2025 meeting, the ASF Board approved the transition of the
Fluo project to be managed by the Accumulo PMC. The Fluo PMC is
dissolved.

For users and contributors, little will change. The existing Fluo
releases will continue to work as they have, and users will still be
able to submit tickets and open pull requests against its git repos
using the GitHub issue tracker(s). Furthermore, the Accumulo PMC will
vote on new releases of Fluo software, when needed. There are no
immediate plans for a new release, but I anticipate that a new one
will be made available in the future to work with newer versions of
Accumulo that are currently under development.

Over the next few weeks, the Accumulo PMC will be making updates to
the Fluo website at fluo.apache.org to restore it to a functional
state (it is currently not fully functional due to changes in ASF
policies regarding linking to third-party web assets since the last
time it was updated), and to update any governance-related pages or
pages documenting the project maintainers, to reflect its new
management.

We will also be requesting INFRA make changes to the mailing lists to
ensure the Accumulo PMC is receiving correspondence from Fluo users on
the mailing lists. However, we encourage users/developers to use the
Accumulo mailing lists at
https://accumulo.apache.org/contact-us/#mailing-lists instead, as it
is likely that the existing Fluo mailing lists will be archived; no
changes to the #fluo Slack channel are expected at this time, but if
you use the ASF Slack instance, you can also reach out to the Accumulo
developers in the #accumulo channel.

Things may change in the future, as the Accumulo PMC makes decisions
about how to manage the Fluo project's git repositories and more. If
you wish to stay involved, please subscribe to the Accumulo dev list
(see the contact-us link above).

Kind regards,

The Accumulo PMC
