Meeting Summary:

Purpose

• Discuss Fluss 0.8 release progress, finalize remaining features, and
discussions for 0.9.

Notes

• Fluss 0.8 Release → approaching code freeze with several features ready
for merging including Flink 2.1 support and critical bug fixes.

• Helm Chart Development → first version PR submitted with end-to-end
functionality achieved in local environment; will rely on third-party
ZooKeeper Helm chart.

• Flink CDC & Complex Data Types → compatibility challenges between Flink
CDC versions and Flink versions, particularly impacting Postgres Pipeline
Source and complex data type flattening support for fluss.

• Release Plan

    ○ Merge remaining pull requests within the next week before code freeze.

        ▪ Blockers

    ○ Fill in the details for the 0.8 release blog for the charter you are
working on.

        ▪ Release Draft 0.8

    ○ Prepare release candidate before Flink Forward (Oct 15) for user
testing.

    ○ Target official release end of October after 3-week vote process.

• Fluss 0.9 Planning

    ○ Aim for shorter release cycle (2-3 months) to deliver features more
quickly.

    ○ Focus on completing features from 0.8 cycle: log filter pushdown,
Spark connector improvements.

    ○ Include KV auto-incremental feature and full table scan capabilities.

• Helm Charts

    ○ David to provide comprehensive E2E user guide for Helm chart
installation.

    ○ Continue development with main focus on deployment simplification.

• Data Type Support

    ○ Leonard and George to discuss offline about supporting complex data
types from

• Community Initiatives

    ○ New Chinese translation channel established for coordinating blog
translations.

    ○ Jark and Giannis to present Fluss overview and demo at Flink Forward
Barcelona.

    ○ Plan webinar with Giannis and Leonard to showcase 0.8 features.

• Client Development

    ○ Schedule discussion for Python & Rust client progress and community
contribution encouragement.
