Could we use some of the cocoon caching functionalities be used to
improve this? Maybe a caching pipeline...?
If you are running dynamically the cache will come into play
automatically. However, if you are running statically then the cache is
cleared between runs. There was a little talk a while back about this
but I don't remember any details. Perhaps you can search the archives
(incidentally it was this idea that eventually led Ferdinand to explore
things, that is why I wan to hear his contribution).
