The whole "site" target will need a rewrite. 

I am thinking to just add a NEW "forrest.crawl" target that just would do the 
calling of the cli and the analysis of the build result.

Meaning we would just use  <java classname="org.apache.cocoon.Main" .../> and 
the last 
<fail if="buildResult">

All other stuff in this target is skin related and unwanted ballast.
