In the OOo Output plugin (which currently is focused on the .odt output format)
does produce an *.odt document. It can be opened by OpenOffice 2.4 and displays
correctly (according to how to plugin is configured so far), however, on trying
to break up the .odt file into its xml components, 7zip (and window archiver)
complain of a corrupted archive and refuse to open it.
