For now I have created a symlink /var/www/forrest -> /home/forrest/htdocs with
redirection in /var/www/index.html.
The links in ~forrest/htdocs are broken using this approach, but the pull
request to modify our puppet configuration is proving more difficult than I
thought.
The initial change we need is minor, a simple adjustment to docroot-related
settings compared to the defaults (
https://github.com/puppetlabs/puppetlabs-apache/tree/1.6.0#docroot-1 ). The
problem is that this would be an incomplete solution without also managing the
forrest role account through puppet. I've been hanging around #asfinfra to ask
the best way to manage role accounts.
