I can at least point out what is missing from the spec... * Handling of different languages As Sophie already pointed out, not all languages are officially released at the same time. Native-language teams do QA independently and not for all operating systems. * What criteria defines when a update is ready for the check to return "yes, update ready"? * What URL will be returned? One single one or an URL depending on the language? (and when language - the language of the base version or that of the currently used language (languagepack)) Individual URLs depending on OS/Platfrom/Language? (not necessarily part of spec, but nice to know anyway) * While not necessarily part of the spec: Who will be able to update the versions? E.g. how will non-Sun-built versions be handled? Will they be able to use the OOo-Update-URL as well? Who maintains/has access to the version-info-table/database/whatever is used? * Handling of language packs * How does OOo detect installed language packs in the first place? The variable "AllLanguages" from versionrc doesn't include it. (so the query sent only includes the "base" language) * What if not all languages are availabe in the updated version or in two different newer versions? ciao Christian -- NP: Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
