Hi, only a few days ago I took over the project leadership for the Writer project from Andreas Martens. He wanted to concentrate on his development work in the team and thought that this won't leave him enough time for the work as a project lead.
When I accepted to replace Andreas in this role it was clear to me that this would also mean that I have to give up my current role as a project lead of the Application Framework. Both projects play an important role in the OpenOffice.org development and leading both of them is too much for a single person. My decision was made easy by the fact that we already have a very active co-lead in the framework project, Carsten Driesner. You all should know him from his very knowledgeable and helpful contributions on the various development mailing lists of OpenOffice.org. So it is only a natural consequence that I propose to elect him as the new project lead of the OpenOffice.org Application Framework project. Please vote for Carsten Driesner as the Project Lead for the Application Framework Project.
