Hello everybody,

I'd like to start a short inquery whether the directories mtime is of real
use.

fsvs would use it to detect changes, and commit the property for information;
but on update it would not try to set it to a meaningful value.

I'm asking because it's giving me a bit of trouble; and as soon as we allow
multiple-url updating the mtime of a directory is completely meaningless, as
it's merging data from multiple sources.

Has anybody some *real* use case to have directories' mtime set to the value
from the repository? Is that needed for some software? (make-like
dependencies or some such?)

Thank you for all answers and ideas!

Regards,

Phil

Versioning your /etc, /home or even your whole installation?
             Try fsvs (fsvs.tigris.org)!
