Dear Apache Geode Developer Community, As we approach the creation of the support/2.0 branch on December 1, 2025, I’d like to share a brief update on our collective progress and acknowledge the invaluable work happening across the community.
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has devoted time to testing, reviewing, and offering feedback. Your generosity and attention to detail have already made a tangible difference: five defects have been identified, resolved, and are now moving through the review process. This early engagement is exactly what helps ensure the stability and quality we all want for a major release like this. As we enter the final phase before branching, any additional help—whether in reviewing pending pull requests, testing recent fixes, or contributing to the remaining blockers—would be deeply appreciated and will bring us that much closer to preparing our first 2.0 release candidate. Apache Geode has always thrived because of your dedication and collaboration, and the momentum we’re seeing now is a great reflection of this community’s strength. Thank you again for everything you’ve contributed so far and for any support you’re able to offer for Apache Geode 2.0 as we approach this important milestone.
