Because Geode 2.0 release moves from the javax.* namespace to jakarta.* (Jakarta EE 10), there is a significant binary incompatibility that prevents rolling upgrades. Here are the critical points for your planning: -JDK Requirements: You'll need to upgrade to JDK 17 as the minimum supported version. -Namespace Migration: Any server-side functions or application code using Java EE imports (javax.servlet., javax.transaction., javax.xml.bind., etc.) will need to be refactored to use Jakarta EE 10 equivalents (jakarta.). -Backup First: Since you must bring the cluster down, perform a full gfsh backup disk-store before the transition.
