I'm looking into GEODE-389

phrase to use in the deprecation notices. There is nothing that replaces
Required Roles, so I'm thinking
/this feature is scheduled to be removed/ - for class javadocs
/this API is scheduled to be removed/ - for method javadocs
As Kirk pointed out:
This may be an example of a deprecation for removing functionality
that doesn't have substantial value for Geode users. If that is the
case then it doesn't need to be deprecated in favor of doing it a
new way.
