Hi, no GeoExt is not yet compatible. There were some tests by Marc Jansen [1] and afaict there is some ongoing work [2]. Couple of weeks ago there has been a similar question on the users-mailing-list [3]. If you are interested in some sponsoring (money or time) please contact the PSC or one of the companies supporting GeoExt.
