I'm not sure there's anything we can do other than lobby that Tomcat gets fixed. If Tomcat is unreliable, then people will choose to use Jetty with Geronimo.

There is an issue in Tomcat 5.0.x and 5.5.x and
presumably in any future release unless examined and
fixed. Please read over this and make some comments
and don't simply comment on comments, but please look
at java.util.HashMap and it's source code. There is
more than one issue with this bug, and it affects a
lot of places. The other issue is the response to the
bug itself. This seems to need more Apache and
Jakarta developer attention and to definitely look at
the issue and not rely on hear say, but to examine the
issue in depth. Currently it seems a best guess is
the reason for not addressing this issue or even
looking into it further. Certainly the issue with a
session variable being set and it not being able to be
found in a later call is an issue in itself not
including the error with a possible long ... hour
running possibly infinite loop. Please read and
examine as it affects more than one Jakarta project.
