Aaron Mulder commented on GERONIMO-627:

I don't agree with removing the target version from this issue. We need to fix this quickly -- it doesn't make sense for search engines to be directing people to the totally outdated incubator site. Why hasn't that page been removed altogether? Who can do that?

Note that the top Google hit for the link above is http:// incubator.apache.org/projects/geronimo/ and http:// geronimo.apache.org/ does not even appear on the first page!

no link to Geronimo from the incubator web page
-----------------------------------------------

         Key: GERONIMO-627
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GERONIMO-627
     Project: Geronimo
        Type: Task
  Components: web
 Environment: n/a
    Reporter: Leonard Norrgard
    Assignee: Davanum Srinivas

The old incubator web page for Geronimo has no reference or indication that Geronimo has moved on from the incubator stage. This leads to visitors thinking the project may have ended, especially given the last news item on display (which is from 2003...).
http://incubator.apache.org/projects/geronimo.html
Also the incubator page is the number one Google hit for queries on "apache j2ee" and "apache ejb", so many people will only find the outdated incubator page.
