John Sisson commented on GERONIMO-1614:
---------------------------------------

Eric, can you give some more detail on the file that Pluto was having problems
with and the symptoms. Doing a quick search of the pluto mailing lists did
not pick up anything obvious when searching for 'CRLF'. I think we need a
better understanding of the problem, as we also have the
geronimo-assembly-plugin jelly code do fixcrlf processing also. So in theory
if there is an issue with CRLFs in XML files, then this would be an issue on
windows if you use the geronimo zip distribution.

> The FixTextLines function "fixes" all CRLFs in xml and other file types
> across the Geronimo
> install tree. Apparently, the version of the Pluto portal being used does
> not
> appreciate its XML files being adjusted.
> The fix will cause FixTextLines to bypass the config-store directory when
> fixing line endings.
> Additionally the fix blends in some new error/trace logging functionality
> which may
> be enabled with -DTRACE=true on the installer command line.
