What's in there now is mosly EJB 3 simplification items and nothing
really on the usage or implementation of javax.persistence. Going to
work on some of that next, specifically what is required to support a
JPA PersistenceProvider.

This is excellent news for OpenEJB also. Historically, we've
preferred to leverage other libraries to provide persistence, such as
Castor JDO or TranQL. Finally, this is standardly pluggable and
implementations are popping up!
JPA is the new JDBC.
