Arthur Ryman updated GERONIMO-1834:
-----------------------------------
Description:
I was testing the Geronimo server adapter. The good news is that it works. The
bad news is that I had to struggle. There are two confusing messages on the New
Server Runtime wizard page.
1. The "Application Server Installation Directory" field is a problem. It is
initially empty and the wizard displays the message "Missing classpath entry
\bin\server.jar". I though maybe I had to install the server so I tried to
click the "Download and Install" button, but it didn't click. I assume you
disabled it, but it wasn't grayed out so I thought there was a bug. Same for
the radio buttons to select Tomcat or Jetty. I was getting frustrated at this
point, so I thought maybe the missing jar was already downloaded with the
server adapter. I clicked the "Browse" button and went to the server adapter
plugin directory and select the lib directory. This didn't remove the "missing
classpath" message, but at least not that the directory field wasn't empty, I
could finally click the "Download and Install" button.
Please use a better message. If the directory field is empty, say "Please enter
the directory where Geronimo is currently installed or where you would like it
to be installed."
2. After I downloaded Geronimo, the wizard displayed a warning message that
said only 1.4 JVMs were supported. However, I selected a 1.4 JVM, the IBM JDK
1.4.2. I still got the warning. Please defect the JVM level and display the
correct message.
I attached screenshots.
