ldap logins on gbuild machines (e.g. kenny, cartman, etc) don't have user.name
and user.home properties set properly

ldap logins on all the gbuild machines, except stan, don't have user.name and
user.home properties set in java environments. this means that maven generates
repos in the working directory names '?/.maven'. Which quickly gets
problematic...
Need to figure out how to configure the ldap client machines or how to
configure the ldap server to get the environment variables set, properly.
For now, something like 'alias maven="maven -Duser.home=$HOME"' ought to get
people up and running...
